Dong Bo, master's degree holder and associate researcher of the Standards & Metrology Research Institute of the China Academy of Railway Sciences Corporation Limited, is mainly engaged in the product inspection and testing of rolling stocks, product certification, standard formulation, supervision and random checking, etc. His major achievement is leading the work to establish the inspection and testing expert team. At present, the team has had the capability to conduct and analyze the structural strength, acoustic, modal tests and to make structural finite element analysis and simulation calculation, and has gradually formed the team capability in the inspection and scientific research to comprehensively solve the problems in the manufacturing of railway rolling stocks, engineering application, etc. He led the team to complete the supervision and random check, quality check, product certification, inspection and testing of hundreds of product items for railway rolling stocks. According to the catalogue of certified and accepted special railway products issued by the National Railway Administration of the People’s Republic of China and China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. and the need for the certification work by the certification center, he organized the team to summarize the inspection and testing methods for series of products such as high-speed EMUs, high-power and high-speed locomotives and urban rail vehicles, assisted in improving the certification system and promoted the development of railway rolling stocks in China. In recent years, he has undertaken or participated in more than 10 scientific research projects at the national, provincial and ministerial and CR regional group levels. He has won 1 second prize of provincial and ministerial science and technology award, been awarded 1 patent for invention, participated in the development of 2 railway industry standards, and published more than 10 academic papers.
