Strong Demand for Cross-Border Fruit and Vegetable Transport on China-Laos Railway
December 2025 marks the fourth anniversary of the China-Laos Railway's operation. As of December 29, 2025, the total volume of imported and exported fruits and vegetables transported via the railway in 2025 has reached 380,000 tons, with demand for cross-border cold-chain transport remaining consistently strong.
The latest data shows that as of December 29, 2025, the total import and export fruit and vegetable volume handled by the China-Laos Railway in 2025 reached 380,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 45.8%. During the same period, the volume of fruits and vegetables transported from China to Laos via the railway reached 174,000 tons, up 61% compared to the same period last year, while the volume from Laos to China was 206,000 tons, indicating a significant rise in trade activity.
